A $75 administrative fee will be assessed to any faculty & staff departments and offices or student organizations who do not cancel within two (2) business days of their event or fail to show for an event or meeting.

* Departments or offices reserving space for an event or conference will be charged the full off-campus rates for the following:

  • More than thirty (30) percent of the guests are not part of the College of Charleston community
  • An external organization is the primary planner and execution of the event
  • There is a charge for the event.

Student Organizations

Registered Student Organizations Only: student organizations must be registered on CougarConnect to be considered registered with the Office of Student Life. Student organizations will only be charged for staffing in the event of an after-hours request, custodial needs, AV requests or Public Safety.

Academic and Administrative Departments and Offices

College of Charleston academic and administrative offices will not be charged a usage fee for Stern Center spaces. However, setup fees and equipment fees do apply for the Stern Center Ballroom and Room 205 due to the high volume of events in these spaces. An invoice will be sent after events to be as accurate as possible. Additional fees will be required for after-hours staffing, weekend custodial or additional setups.

Events for Organizations Affiliated with a College of Charleston Department or Office

College of Charleston departments or offices may request space for organizations affiliated with their department or office. They will be required to pay a usage fee according to the fee structure. The attendees of these events must be at least 70% College of Charleston community or the department may be charged the full rate. Departments or offices reserving space for a conference or event will be charged the full off-campus rates for the following:

  • More than thirty (30) percent of the guests are not part of the College of Charleston community
  • An external organization is the primary planner and execution of the event
  • There is a charge for the event.

Off-Campus Organizations

Off-campus organizations include those who may be members of the College of Charleston community however the event or conference is planned and executed by individuals not on the campus. These events will incur the full off-campus rates for all usage fees and resources.
